So I started a blog

Hola.. As most of you know, I will be heading to Costa Rica next semester. I will be studying there from January 11th to May 8th. I thought I'd start a blog so everyone who cared to could stay informed on what I was up to. I'm starting to get a little nervous to live in a foreign country for 4 months, not knowing anyone before I go. I will be living in Heredia, Costa Rica, which is a city of about 50,000 people. I am enrolled in the National University of Costa Rica, which has about 14,000 students. I will be taking mostly Spanish courses; however, I am also taking a Latin American dance course (taught in Spanish!) and an Ecology couse (taught in English, thank God).

I recently received an email giving the names and ages of my host family. I will be living with Ana Isabel 52, Alfredo 52, and Georgina 23. I'm excited to meet them. After my Spain experience, I've learned that how well you get along with your host family can make or break the experience.

That's about all the information I've got for now. I hope everything with my Visa works out, and I hope the trip goes well. I'm looking forward to this wonderful opportunity. I'm very excited to see rain forests, beaches, volcanoes, and monkeys!
Adios...
